"After I transitioned, I had this fantasy that I would take hormones for a few years and then 'blend in' effortlessly. There are [many] trans women who do that and that is sometimes presented as the goal. When I realized that I wasn't 'blending in' effortlessly, I had to re-evaluate things. Then I thought it was time to 'own' [being] transgender."
